This month at Bath Natural Remedies we are focusing on what can be done for your skin. Exciting for those of you who maybe have an ongoing skin problem or perhaps an emerging problem or maybe you just need to focus a little on you. Always recommended for all women – a little bit of focus goes a long way.
Whatever may motivate you to have a fresh look at your skin care Homeopathy can be included in that self care.
When treating the skin, as in many other therapies, it is always important to look at the digestion and how it is functioning. What is happening on the inside is reflected on the outside so it is no coincidence that digestive disturbances can be happening along with skin breakouts.
In a simple case of hives possibly due to too much sun or brushing against an unfriendly plant or maybe even eating something unusual for you, can be treated with Urtica Urens given every half an hour for three doses which will calm down the initial irritation. Then repeat the remedy every one to two hours until complete relief is felt. In a more complicated case I may also prescribe a gut remedy called Morgan Bach just once daily for a few days to help calm the guts and let the skin settle.
Acne is a cause of great distress for a lot of teenagers and is not uncommon for many women to suffer with breakouts during menses right into their 30’s. The appearance looks the same whatever the cause but in every case a homeopathic prescription is unique to you. Both examples will have a hormonal element but then the different stresses and strains on the body lead to different remedies. During teenage years so much is changing – hormones, body clock and the freedom to eat whatever is desired whether good or bad can all contribute to unhealthy skin. And no it doesn’t happen to everyone which feels really unfair but it is about your individual constitution and your individual system. One of the many wonders of Homeopathy is that ability to individualise treatments.
I myself experienced Acne Rosacea after the birth of my second child. I have to say this was extremely distressing and pretty difficult to manage along with a newborn and I was slow to say the least, in getting help beyond ever thicker make- up to cover it up. I also spent a small fortune on creams and potions which undoubtably helped but weren’t getting to the root cause. When I did get help from my own Homeopath – yes Homeopaths see Homeopaths too – the transformation was nothing short of miraculous. I could have kicked myself for not getting there quicker but these things happen. We are all coping with more than one thing at a time and rather predictably, my health was way down the “to do” list.
So get yourself to the top of the “to do” list and come and see what lovely products we have to offer. You could even book in with your local Homeopath while you’re there.
