Welcome to my first blog on my new website.  I hope in the coming months there will be something interesting, thought provoking or just plain useful for you to peruse.

First of all I would like to update you on how my practice is continuing.  I am now in beautiful Somerset in a village called Peasedown St John which is just outside Bath.  We moved to be nearer our sons who are in Bristol.  During lockdown they seemed further away than ever and we realised that if we were going to move to be nearer them we had to get ourselves organised and focused – now or never as they say.  From that decision everything got going pretty quickly, then it didn’t, then it did.  Exciting and exhausting in equal measure.

So, how will I be continuing to “see” patients now that I am officially on the opposite side of the country?  During lockdown many therapists had to embrace and become familiar with virtual appointments.  I was so grateful for the technology that allowed me to keep in touch with patients and saw it as an emergency measure at first.  However as time went on, and with the quick end to the pandemic that everyone was hoping for clearly a long way off, I realised this was more than an emergency tool. After speaking with colleagues I knew I could continue my practice as an online Homeopath.

As before, appointments are for an hour but from the comfort of your own home – and without the travel.  I appreciate many will feel they are missing out on being in a different space dedicated to that one hour but with a little preparation we can recreate the privacy and focus of an in person meeting.  Instead of travelling to my practice, prepare the space you will be in for that hour.  Remember to have tea/coffee/water to hand, turn off your phone, get comfortable and check you have a good internet connection.  I am working from a dedicated space and I will be doing the same preparation to make sure I am not interrupting your appointment.   Once the appointment has concluded I will post your remedies – an excellent service in the village including weekend pick-ups – and payment will be by bank transfer for those of you I already know and PayPal for my new patients.

Embracing change seems to be the order of the day at the moment although what we really don’t like to admit is nothing really stays the same anyway.  Children grow up, jobs change, we move house and I can promise you my working space will be evolving for the next few months as we get to grips with our lovely little cottage.

Looking ahead, and despite the promise of an Indian summer, I am thinking of preparations for the autumn.  My favourite soup recipes are to hand for consideration, I’m taking stock of supplements I might need to keep well and protected from whatever pops up over the coming months as we spend more time indoors and I’m checking in with myself regarding sleep and food.  There are always improvements and adjustments we can make.  This has been a long haul with CoVid and it’s not necessarily going to be over for a few months yet but we mustn’t be gloomy – that will only increase our stress levels!  My mantra for the last eighteen months has been “fresh air, water, nutrition and don’t forget to breathe”.  Back to basics folks!

My intention is to update this blog monthly and please feel free to pass on my details to anyone who may be in need of some Homeopathy in their lives.
